Time to HACK your vegetables

You all wrote to me yesterday and wanted to know MORE about the synergy of vegetables. 

Apparently you want to know what flavors to combine with your favorite vegetables to bring out their best flavors!

Here are a few!!

The earthy flavors of asparagus work really well with the magic of mustard, sesame seeds and tarragon.

Herbs like oregano, basil or mint, as well as spices like cumin and chili flakes, are great choices to enhance broccoli’s natural taste. 

If you’re the kind of person who can only eat carrots with butter and honey or maple, I got you. Try curry, cumin, cinnamon or ginger. Allspice or ginger are excellent in carrot purée as well.

Add rosemary, sage or thyme to your mushrooms. And pleeeeeeeease don’t forget the garlic!

Cauliflower and romanesco have delicate tastes allowing you to add a little spice, or other flavors to it. Cayenne, paprika, fennel seed and other fine herbs like dill, marjoram and parsley are perfect choices.

Sweet potato and winter squash are the perfect go-to veggie when you’re craving something a little sweet. That’s why allspice, cinnamon, clove, ginger and nutmeg work perfect as seasoning.

Find a taste explosion when you add dill, mint, parsley and even chili powder or cumin to your cucumbers or jicama!!!

There.  You are set for Wednesday cooking at home!

Don’t forget that these herbs and spices are incredibly high in antioxidants that protect you from the aging free radicals created from their cooking process.
